This paper presents the modeling of a manufacturing system and the simulation of a manufacturing process on this manufacturing line for a reconfigurable manufacturing system (RMS). The RMS, whose components are reconfigurable machines and reconfigurable controllers can quickly adjust production capacity and functionally in response to sudden changes in market. Recently, many researches have been done on manufacturing architecture and scheduling. However, it is hard for manufacturing engineers to evaluate and test their designs beforehand. Therefore, we propose using this simulator to make evaluation easier and help find out the characteristics of the real system. Also, a genetic algorithm (GA) is used in this research to get the optimal performance of this manufacturing system.
