In order to meet the specifications of Pressure Containment Vessel (PCV) outboard valves for Filtered Containment Venting System (FCVS), we have developed MOTOR OPERATED BUTTERFLY VALVE with superior seismic performance, reliable operability and secure sealing tightness, which is characterized by followings. For assurance of secure sealing tightness under normal operating condition, power plant transient condition, shutdown condition, refueling condition, under Design Base Accidents (DBA) and SA, valve seal performance is enhanced. a) For secure sealing high temperature and high pressure steam with the radioactive materials, suppression the release of radioactive materials and keeping sealing performance after SA for long hours, Laminate seat which is laminated expanded graphite and stainless foils are adopted. b) For the measure of Laminate sliding surface degradation by wear of repeated sliding motion on metal at the time of valve operating, the camshaft drive valve seal mechanism is adopted, which Laminate itself adapt to the metal. On the other hand, for secure operation in the Japanese Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs), motor operation mechanism reliability improvements and remote operability under Power Station Black Out condition (SBO) are simultaneously achieved.
