Micro machines driven by magnetism are being developed by the authors. For their practical use, the location of a magnet partitioned by barriers is required to be measured remotely. In this study a method for identification of the location was proposed and the validity was investigated. In the method magnetic field vector components of a magnetic were measured at two positions with different x coordinates by using 3 axes tesla meter. These values were substituted into equations which correlate the magnetic field vector components with the Cartesian coordinates and the direction of a magnet. Then the location of the magnet was estimated by inverse analysis of these equations. Comparing the estimated and actual location of the magnet, the validity of the method was confirmed.
