It is for the purpose that this study to analyze channel turbulence having a free surface. In order to high accuracy a consistent scheme applied to convective term in Navier-Stokes equations. In addition, convective term is treated as 2nd order Adams-Bashforth method and viscosity term as Crank-Nicolson method. The approximation methods of a free surface are employed by slip wall, zero and low Froude number approximations. In a calculation of channel turbulence, the result of the study agreed well with one of a spectrum method. As a result of this study, there was difference in turbulence statistics quantities near free surface. It is clear that results obtained here differ with approximation method of free surface.
