There are some systems that involve impacts, e.g. vibrating screens. Sometimes unwanted low frequency vibration occurs in such vibroimpact systems. This report examines effects of a dynamic absorber on the low frequency vibration using an experimental apparatus. Results show that the low frequency vibration becomes smaller as the damping ratio of a dynamic absorber is higher, and that an absorber with high damping ratio suppresses well the low frequency vibration.
