The joints stability and compression force dispersion in the knee joint rely on the meniscus. The radial tear of the lateral meniscus in posterior region is one of the common diseases in sports and daily activities. In the present study, we evaluated a surgical treatment for the disease, named centralization, originally developed by some of the coauthors, Koga, et al^<(1)>, using a 6-degree of freedom robotic system^<(2)>. Joint compressive force was applied to the knee at a speed of 0.1mm/s up to 150 N at full extension, 60, 90, and 120 degree of flexion. The same test was repeated after the radial tear of the lateral meniscus, treated by centralization, and complete meniscectomy. As a result, valgus and external rotation increased after RT, but the rotation angle decreaced by the treatment centralizaiton.
