A new char combustion model (Radially-distributed model) was proposed to improve prediction accuracy of late stage of char combustion. More detailed combustion process in the radial direction of char particle was modeled to capture the trends of char combustion in the wide range of temperature by accounting for the variation of physical quantities in Radially-distributed model, while the existing model could not be applied to such a condition due to that the assumption of slow or fast combustion by employing homogenous or ash film model was made. In addition, it was found by using Radially-distributed model that the most of combusting char particle was in the intermediate combustion state between homogeneous and ash file model assumptions and the state was significantly affected by the particle's temperature and size.
