In the automobile industry, which is one of the main industries in Japan, CASE: Connected, Autonomous, Sharing, Electric, etc. called autonomous driving and electrification are becoming the trend of development, and research institutes such as automobile manufacturers and universities are trendy. It is important to get on the trend, but in the aviation industry, there is a trend of twin-engine fighter development before and during World War II. France, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, and Japan developed and mass-produced these fighters. It is hard to say that all twin-engine fighter planes have succeeded, and some have changed their usage methods according to the war situation. The reason for this is that, especially for military aircraft, the policy of the customer, the military, takes the initiative in development. In this paper, I take a bird's eye view of the twin-engine fighter aircraft of each country before and during the war, and report how the military policy in particular affected the development.
