The characteristics of the Aeolian tone radiated from two-dimensional square cylinders with rounded corners are studied experimentally in order to control the Aeolian tone. The Strouhal number for the square cylinders increases with the radius of the rounded corner and the peak sound pressure level decreases for relatively large radius. The rounded corner seems to affect the reattachment of the separated flow, resulting in the change of the Strouhal number and the peak level. A semi-circular-and-square cylinder shows large peak level reduction when the rounded part is placed towards the upstream.
