The fatigue strength of the dovetail for compressor rotor blade under start-shutdown and fretting was evaluated. In this paper, the stress singularity theory is applied to the evaluation of fatigue strength of dovetail. The fretting fatigue strength is estimated comparing stress singularity intensity ΔH at the contact edge of dovetail and critical intensity value of stress singularity ΔHc. And then the validity of this method is confirmed by the fatigue test.
