Mixing control was realized using seven circular staggered jets. By manipulating the ratio of the exit velocities, the recirculation zone generated in between the jets was altered such that the velocity and concentration profile was controlled. Although the nozzles were symmetrically arranged, we obtained in terms of the controlling concentration profile an asymmetric distribution. By varying exit velocity, circumferentially around the central nozzle, the concentration profile could be rotated synchronously. This result indicates that the concentration profile, as related to long time scales such as that for mean flow, can be controlled using circular staggered jets.
