In this paper, we observe microchannel flow distribution in a Y-microchannel using our frame-straddling high-speed vision system with two camera inputs that can synchronize two camera inputs with the same view field with a time delay on a submicrosecond time scale. Our mirco-PIV system can estimate the velocity distribution of high-speed microchannel flows at 1 m/s or more in real time by processing 512x512 images at 2000 fps for the two camera inputs and controlling their frame-straddling time from 0 to 0.5 ms. The performance was demonstrated by showing several experimental results for microfluidic flows in a Y-microchannel with a width of hundreds of micrometers.
