In the field of regenerative medicine, this study mainly focuses on three dimensional tissue engineering, which intends to regenerate lost tissues and organs. We have already established a technique to make a cell construct using only cells. The cell construct is made by spheroid-culturing the cells. This group has also established a method of arranging these spheroids at discretionary locations, permitting the production of a cell construct with complex shape. However, if spheroids with identical shapes cannot be obtained, it is impossible to construct the intended cell construct. Therefore, it is necessary to produce reproducible spheroids. In this study, we report the preparation of spheroids by using a developed spheroid-formation robot to obtain reproducible spheroids.
