Kawasaki Robot Festival, called Kawa-Robo, has been held since 1991. The festival is a kind of battle of robots. The main purpose of the festival aims for education and technical training for young engineers. Through the festival, young engineers can experience teamwork. Moreover, to build their own robot is to learn the importance of various technical fields. In this paper, we report not only 20-year history and future of Kawa-Robo but also our future initiative from the viewpoint of industrial policy in Kawasaki City.
