The objective of this study is to develop an environmental light-responsive device array driven by miroalgae. We study an actuation mechanism based on algae, Euglena which is responsive to an environment light. We designed and fabricated a microfluidic channel to pattern algae using a flow and characterized patterning results. We built an optical system to irradiate a light selectively towards a sample using a digital micromirror device. We irradiated a light to algae and measured the photo-response of the algae. Movable components were encapsulated in microchambers. We demonstrated the actuation of the component by Euglena.
