Anticipatory postural adjustments (APA) is considered as one of the causes of falls. But it is hardly measured at present. Therefore, we propose a method to measure anticipatory postural adjustments using disturbance. In this study, we measured the prior activity start time of the postural muscles against disturbances under conditions that subjects can predict disturbances and can not predict disturbances. As a result, activity start time of postural muscles was significantly earlier under conditions that subject can predict disturbances.
