In this research, we aimed at developing a method to establish correspondence between a shape of a thin plate and its deformed one. This method is based on so called parametrization by which a three dimensional shape model is mapped to the two dimensional plane. In order to obtain a physically plausible mapping, we introduce thickness information to the parametrization, because the volume of a thin plate is preserved during the deformation process. So we proposed a parameterization method for a set of points associated with thickness distribution. By mapping the original shape and its deformed shape into a common parametric domain, we can establish a correspondense between those two shapes. It also indicates how the material of the thin plate deforms during a forming process, such as stamping or drawing processes. We show the result of our method applied to the real data obtained from X-ray CT-data.
