In this study, it is tried to propose a chair used by patients for psychotherapy. To make clear requirements to the chair, an interview to the psychiatrist were carried out. Subsequently, sitting image of five kinds of materials for chair cushion were evaluated using SD method. Obtained results were analyzed by factor analysis. The results were summarized as follows; 1) The shape of the chair affects on patient's feeling of relief, 2) A chair with gel as a cushion gives the patients feeling that is gentle and steady. Finally, an easy chair with gel was proposed for patient psychotherapy.
