In my research I am studying the events that brought about the Swiss Punk Style movement. Also I am analyzing the range of typographical expressions that were made possible through the experiments of Swiss Punk Typography that were not possible in the internationally established Swiss Style. First in the main part of my research, I will discuss and describe the characteristics of the Swiss Punk Style. Then I will discuss the two of the leading top graphic designers of the Swiss Style, Wolfgang Weingart and April Greiman. These two designers helped to evolve, expand, and popularize this new style. I will analyze each of their typographical experiments, their work as a professional designer, and their design problem solving methods to understand why they broke away from the rigidly ruled Swiss Style and developed a new aesthetic.
