This study is part of a larger research project to develop a primary mathematics encyclopedia for teachers and educators. It focuses on translating and adapting the terminologies used in mathematics education in Japan. The translation process involves referring to mathematics textbooks published by Gakko Tosho and learning videos developed by CRICED, University of Tsukuba. The study includes 16 resource persons, including lecturers, teachers, and researchers. The findings reveal the presence of problematic terminologies during the translation process, categorized as invariant and variant terminologies. English terms are utilized for concepts without direct equivalents in Indonesian. The challenges researchers face stem from conceptual differences, such as in the case of multiplication. The translated terminologies are expected to support teachers in implementing Japanese Mathematics Textbooks in their classrooms, although further comprehensive reviews are needed.
