The No. 10 recovery boiler for Tomioka Mill was completed in May 1990 and KP plant No. 3 which was completed in August 1990.
This boiler is a higher pressure, temperature, thermal efficiency and low pollutants emission recovery boiler of the largest class in Japan. 50% of the steam requirement in Tomioka Mill is produced by this boiler.
At the first stage, the plugging that was characteristic of kraft recovery boilers occured in the supperheater and the evaporator. For the past two years, we have doing monthly burning tests of black liquor fuel.
Now, with the experience of two years operation, we have improved the operation method of this recovery boiler. The following is the report of the No. 10 boilers operation.
