Abstract
The objective of this paper is to clarify the design-code for revitalization of the historical living space in Asian countries. It is important to focus on not only architecture but also exterior space. In Macao, the way to renovate historical architecture keeping those facade for the historical landscape were clarified. In Shanghai, residential scheme for continuous use were clarified by analyzing of usage of alleys, and by comparing old and present plans. In Penang, the spatial characteristics of the streets were verified, and by the using the modeling method of the computer graphics, the form generation principle of shophouses were analyzed.
