Abstract

Let’s make safety net of housing and living through Mokuchin-method　　　 The goal of this project is to develop “Mokuchin- Method in Neighborhood” that provides affordable houses which has certain quality for people requiring special assistance in securing housing. We investigated rental-housing market and interviewed various stake holders. Then we redeveloped Mokuchin-Recipe, a design tool to renovate old houses and apartments. By using this new version of Mokuchin-Recipe we realized 2 renovation projects as a case study. As a result, we revealed the bottlenecks of this project which is lack of community’s commitment, lack of finance system, lack of monetization of architectural design and lack of linkage between stakeholders. Through this research, we are prepared to start a new business to support non-profit-organizations.
