機能的僧帽弁閉鎖不全症の1例について

An 8-month-old collie dog was Suspected to be affected at the heart, presenting specific edema at the lower parts of the limbs and metallic presystolic murmurs. Electrocardiography revealed the dilatation of the left auricle and the left ventricle. In its heart, as compared with the normal organ, inside pressure was high on the venous side and low on the arterial side. From these findings, this dog was diagnosed as a case of functional failure of closure of the mitral valve induced by the dilatation of the left ventricle. Autopsy lent support to this diagnosis, revealing the dilatation of the left auricle and ventricle and mild thickening of the mitral valve.
