Monolayer MoS2 is a promising material for gas sensing due to its large surface-volume ratio. However, its slow response / recovery in room temperature prevents practical sensor applications. Recently, we found that the gas response of the monolayer MoS2 is activated under light illumination. In this study, we show that the response and recovery rates linearly increase with light intensity. This result can be explained by Langmuir adsorption model in consideration of photo-stimulated gas desorption.
