A spherical current meter which is used near the coast for a long period was designed. The current meter floats middle layer in the sea, and the current direction and speed are indicated by a spherical compass and taken a photograph of it by a 8 mm cinecamera which is set at the top in the sphere.
After taking data in ten days, the characteristics of sea current off JAERI was treated by the statistics.
