In 2009 and 2010, to estimate the period of infestation of grapes by Toleria romanovi, the seasonal variation in the number of adult males, determined using synthetic sex pheromone traps, and the number of their larvae infesting grapes were investigated in grape orchards in Yokote City, Akita Prefecture. The infesting larvae were continuously observed in the grape orchards from early July to early October. The peak number was observed in August. Also, the first appearance of the larvae infesting the grapes was observed twenty to forty days after the first capture of adult males using synthetic sex pheromone traps.
