注意すべき表現「てもいいです」

―日本語教科書の分析からより良い対人関係構築を目指して―

Expressions “temoii desu" such as "tabe temoii desu" ("you can eat") used by non-native Japanese speakers give negative feelings to non-native Japanese speakers. "temoii desu" expression means giving permission. It is does not encourage positive or better relationships between non-native speakers and native speakers who interact together. This study analyzed how two types of Japanese textbooks are handled and examined the various teaching methods. As the result, in one textbook it is not covered, it was suggested to covering it by not teaching it. Another textbook used in Thailand showed the phrase pattern and showed that oral practice was active. However, despite previous studies showing, there was no

warning that it should not be used as it is a rude expression. This is a phrase pattern learned in the

beginner's class, and it is difficult to treat it as an attitude expression that reflects Japanese social and cultural norms. Even so, teachers should warn at the beginner level.
