The "common examination" of mathematics for the 3rd grade students in Gunma Kosen, who correspond to the 12th grade students of high school in the USA, has been carried out for ten years. The examination distinguishes itself from other traditional examinations done in Kosen to cover a wide range of topics in mathematics. In the present paper, the history of the common examination is summarized, and the results of the examination for the last decade are analyzed. Finally, the future problem is
