A study was made to observe the effect of various kinds of diet in individual rearing methods on the life cycle of Lardoglyphus konoi under the condition of 30℃ and 96% R.H., in which the hypopus formed easily. For the breeding of the mites, it was found the animal diets were necessary and plant diets were unsuitable. The appearance rates of hypopi of the mite increased when the mites were reared in L. konoi powder, dry yeast powder or wholewheat flour. In the diets containing dry yeast powder, it seemed that the appearance rate of the hypopi was proportionate to the content of dry yeast powder.
