Myobia musculi-infected NC mice produced IgE antibody specific for M. musculi, and this IgE antibody was not reactive to the antigens of other species of Acari. NC mice did not develop dermatitis only when reared in the conventional environment, but did dermatitis following infection with M. musculi.
