This report is based on a short course at the Archives College held by the Institute of Japanese Literature in 2022, and discusses the methods used to collect materials at NAMA. We have organized our research methods and rules for archives management in the collection of materials at NAMA. We also compared these with previous research in archives studies and discussed the issues involved. The activities of the NAMA should be disseminated and further improved for those who are engaged in the preservation of architectural materials in Japan.
