The recently published two case reports, one by Ogawa et al. stating the appearance of skin lesions of dermatomyositis in a case of sarcoidosis and the other by Nakabayashi presenting reticulosarcoma of the skin occurring in a case of filariasis were discussed critically. Especially, the pathogenetic relation of one disease with the other in each case, namely that of dermatomyositis with sarcoidosis in the former and of reticulosarcoma of the skin with filaria infection in the latter was taken into consideration. The author's previous observations in filariasis patients i. e. the development of sarcoma and reticulosis, both of the skin and of more granulomatous nature was introduced in addition to the case of Nakabayashi.
