This paper examines the food supply simulation in Japan, referring to the SWISSfoodSys Model in Switzerland. While MAFF has the Food Sufficiency Index which calculates the maximum calories of domestic food supply, a new trial model with the same objective functions to SWISSfoodSys, which both of calorie supply and nutritional balance are considered, shows that it supplies 1,402 - 2,167 kcal/day per capita (64.9% - 99.5% of the standard amount 2,158 kcal) under the import interruption. Food security policy needs to be discussed based on evidence from food supply simulation.
