Abstract
Aqueous solution of streptomycin made in U.S.A. or Japan exerts distinct effects upon the peroxidase staining. The concentration effective enough to show blue peroxidase positive granules in the myelogenous leucocytes, lies between 70 per cent (saturated) and 0.2 per cent. Remarkable difference between streptomycin made in U.S.A. and that in Japan was not seen. This characteristic potency of streptomycin probably originates from the salt contained in it which can form blue "Merichinoid" complex with benzidune.
