Privacy Enhancing Technologies, or PETs, have garnered increased attention as foundational technologies that enable disclosure control, secure data sharing and reuse, etc. In this presentation, we provide an overview of documents from international organizations, G7 meetings, and other sources that reference PETs. Additionally, we explore the potential of differential privacy as a method for the disclosure control of detailed statistical data, such as gridded statistics, by examining its application in the Redistricting Data of the 2020 Decennial Census of Population and Housing in the United States.
