Products and microwave dielectric properties of ceramics with nominal composition (Ba1-xCax)(B1/2B′1/2)O3 ( 0.0 ≦ x ≦ 1.0 ) were investigated. The sintered products were single phase of a perovskite compound when 0.0 ≦ x ≦ 0.4; and the second phase was recorded when x was 0.5. The products vs. x relation of this system were not the reported type of (Ba1-xCax)(B1/3B′2/3)O3 systems nor the type of (Ba1-xCax)(B1/2B′1/2)O3 systems. Relative permittivity (εr) of the ceramic with x of 0.0 was 37.5. The εr value increased linearly with x and took a peak at 55.2 when x=0.25, and the value decreased with further increase in x. This sharp increase in εr was similar to the reported about the (Ba1-xCax)(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3 system having the peak when x=0.25. However, the relative value of the increase in εr of this system, 39%, was smaller significantly than that, 49%, for the reported system.
