Doped TiO2 sol were synthesized by hydrothermally treating aqueous TIOCl2 added with transition metal chlorides such as VOCl2, CrCl2, FeCl3, NiCl2 and NbCl5. Highly crystallized antase was obtained in all samples, as examined by XRD and TEM. Undoped pure titania sol has arrow-tip like shape with 20∼30nm but doped TiO2 sol has needle like shape with 10∼25nm. When doping Nb ion, TiO2 particle showed spherical shape with diameter less than 20nm due to Nb ion acting a in inhibitor for the particle growth. With increasing aging temperature and time, the TiO2 particle grew abruptly. From the UV-VIS results, the transition metal doped TiO2 sol has higher absorption than Undoped TiO2 sol, together with larger visible sensitivity.
