A highly nonlinear chalcogenide-tellurite composite microstructure fiber has been fabricated successfully for the first time by stack & draw. The As2S3 glass was elongated into rod with 1 mm diameter, and then was inserted in a tellurite glass capillary. The capillary containing As2S3 rod together with other empty capillaries was stacked in a tellurite glass tube and elongated into the cane. After that the cane was inserted in a jacket tube and was drawn into fiber. The nonlinear coefficient of the fiber is 5645 km-1W-1 at 2.0 μm, which is the highest value reported so far except for the tapered fiber.
