Developing of infrared absorbent is a advanced hot topic which has significant meaning in improving living condition of human beings on IR utility, energy economization, solar collectors, smart window, stealthy technology, optical filter etc.In this work,the optical properties of nanoscale rod-like Cs0.32WO3 has been investigated in a wide range of 800-15000nm and a strong absorbing ability together with broad working waveband was observed. Based on such properties, the Cs0.32WO3 nanorods exhibited quick conversion of photo-energy to heat and excellent heat rays cutoff characters. From a practical application viewpoint, CsxWO3 nanorods are a suitable functional material for the solar collectors, smart window, optical filter etc.
