In product development, product life is evaluated through accelerated life tests and reflected in reliability design. When a failure occurs after the product has been shipped, failure analysis and statistical data analysis are used to evaluate the life and content ratio of the initial failed product, and the information is used to improve the manufacturing process and countermeasures against problems by providing feedback. In order to properly conduct the evaluation, it is necessary to understand the analysis results by performing estimation and testing based on sampling and statistical analysis. However, the theory of reliability analysis is not easy for product developers and production line workers.
With the use of modern, advanced statistical analysis software, it is relatively easy to obtain detailed and accurate analysis results. In the 139th Quality Talk, examples of software-based analysis were presented. I hope that these examples will be used to improve product quality.
