Analysis and Categories Related to Introduction Effects an Adopt-Program in Local Government in Japan

Abstract

Adopt-Program (AP) represents maintenance and cleanup activities by citizen participation. These activities are aimed at public places, such as roads and parks. AP was first introduced in Japan in 1998, and is actively seen in current situations. However, some of these activities have been declining in recent years. This study conducted a questionnaire about the introduction situation and activity evaluation of local governments. Based on the results, an object to be grasped by the specific evaluation and the problem was the maintenance methods of roads. Therefore, this research used factor analysis, a kind of multivariate analysis, and was subjected to classification of activity evaluation by population size.
