Abstract

Furumachi Kagai is a significant area as the historic district. This study aims to clarify the current streetscape and challenges regarding repair and landscaping in Furumachi Kagai. This is to prepare a basic date for establishment of a design guideline. Major results are as fillows. 1) Many low-rise buildings are distributed along the side of Shinmichi. On the other hand, many high-rise buildings are distributed along the side of Tori and Koji. 2) The areas along Higashi-shinmichi and 9 bancho side of Nishi-shinmichi are particularly significant area as the historic district.
