Abstract

Through a case study in Shibuya Ward, this study aims to identify a prototype of a city planning science education program for the development of city creators. The program is designed to foster a scientific understanding of issues based on human thinking and the creativity to solve those issues. The purpose of this study is to help apply the program to other cities in the future. The case study will focus on the "Shibuya Future Studies" program at an elementary school in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, which aims to foster creators of the future Shibuya, using the redevelopment of the Shibuya Station area as a motif, and to make the program applicable to elementary school educational settings.
