Abstract

This study focused on the "basic principles" of ordinances for the promotion of culture and the arts in government-designated cities, with the aim of understanding the characteristics of such ordinances. As a result, it was confirmed that the "basic principles" of ordinances for the promotion of culture and the arts in government-designated cities tend to include "support for activities for the succession, development, and utilization of culture and the arts" and "environmental improvement for cultural and artistic activities". In addition, it was suggested that they are also conscious of exchanges with other regions, human resource development, and cooperation with various fields.
