This study analyses the relationships between the ecosystems and hydraulics-geographical features of three rivers crossing reclaimed land in Tokyo Bay in Chiba Prefecture.
The Takase River has the ecosystem and hydraulics-geographical features of a tidal flat. This suggests that a tidal flat might have greater potential for restoration, as the height of the riverbed of the Hanami River before reclamation is closer to that of the Takase River than that of the Miyako River.
A study of the ecosystem showed a greater number of species in the Hanami River than in the Miyako River. The results suggest that the downstream river and marine estuary environments influence biodiversity.
