Experimental study was carried out to assess the danger of the dust explosion hazard in farm cooperative paddy drying, processing, and storage facilities in Japan.
Physical and chemical properties and explosibility of the deposited dust in such facilities were reported in previous article (1). Minimum ignition temperature and lower explosive limits of the deposited dusts, measured according to the U. S. Bureau of Mines, fall in the range of 793-853K, and 200-300g/m3. The results reported in the two articles indicate that the facilities are in the danger of dust explosion.
Good house-keeping and elimination of ignition sources should be enforced in the first place.
