About a multi-functional mounter, we proposed an optimization method of the allocation of component feeders and the mounting sequence for minimizing the placement time. This problem is quite complex with various constraints. We took an approach of dividing the problem into several sub-problems aiming at employing simple optimization algorithms. A system implemented the algorithms provide good results.
