Abstract
Rough set approaches have been developed and extended to treat dominance relatons on attribute values. However, the monotonicity between conditional attributes and a decision attribute is implicitly assumed. Therefore non-monotonic preference information tables cannot be analyzed by the previous rough set approaches. In this paper, we propose a new rough set approach to analyze non-monotonic preference information tables. We show that all decision rules with minimal conditions can be extracted by extending the conventional decision matrix.
