Abstract
This paper studies a discretization method of continuous-time controllers taking account of the intersample behavior of the resulting sampled-data systems. Based on the frequency response of sampled-data systems, we propose two fundamental schemes to determine desirable frequency response characteristics of the discretized compensator such that deterioration of closed-loop characteristics is expected to be suppressed; one is based on open-loop treatment, while the other is based on closed-loop treatment. Once desirable frequency response characteristics are determined, a discretized compensator is found that approximately attains such characteristics. We also discuss how to choose reasonable weights in these methods.
